Courmayeur Ski Trip 2018
We returned home on Sunday 21 January at 6.15pm approx. after a fantastic and tiring week, having had 4 hours a day of ski lessons from Monday through to Saturday.
There was plenty of snow, indeed it snowed most nights and we had heavy snow through the day on a couple of days too but this didn't dampen the children's enthusiasm.
After breakfast each day we would walk up to the slopes for the first of our 2 hour ski lessons, this would be followed by lunch at one of the many restaurants on the slopes. In the afternoon we would have another 2 hour lesson before heading back down the gondola to the hotel.
Monday evening we all visited a local ice-cream shop and were treated to the choice of a huge selection of flavours and some went back for seconds! Tuesday night was a visit to a local Pizzeria and we were treated to 3 different kinds of pizza, followed by ice-cream for dessert. On Wednesday we headed down the slopes to a small gentle slope on the edge of the town where the children had a chance to bumboard - it proved to be very competitive. Thursday night was ice-skating which took place in an indoor skating arena in Courmayeur along with the children from a Northumberland school who were staying in the hotel with us. Friday night was prize-giving night and all the instructors were very complimentary at the effort and enthusiasm shown by all our pupils - and staff!
Saturday we had a full day of instruction before we returned back to the hotel for a quick shower, followed by an early evening meal and then onto the coach for the journey back home.
