Duke of Edinburgh
The Duke of Edinburgh’s Award is offered at Bronze Level in Pitlochry High School to pupils who are 14 years of age or over. The Award is a challenging programme of out of school activities which help the participants learn new skills, help others and experience adventure whilst giving them a sense of achievement. The Award is valued by a wide range of organisations and employers.
During the Bronze section of the Award, participants complete four sections:
- Volunteering
- Skills
- Physical Recreation
- An expedition of 2 days and 1 night
The participants choose the area in each section that they wish to cover and the programme is flexible with a wide range of options to suit everyone.
The minimum time taken to complete a Bronze Award is 6 months but more normally it will take approximately a year.
